Under the direction of the Director, IT the Tools Engineer is responsible for the implementation and administration of the Identity and ITSM applications at KnitWell Group. This includes integrations and automation related to applications used for Identity and Access Management, Change Management, Incidents, Service Requests and Critical Event Management, monitoring and automation. The Tools Engineer is always looking at ways to improve and recommends changes as needed.
The Tools Engineer will work on maintenance and continuous improvement of Identity and ITSM applications, processes, and automation. They will work with the Tools support team, whether on premise or remote, and other IT partners to ensure the Identity, ITSM, and Tools processes are efficient, reduce risk within the organization, and enable associates to work effectively.
The impact you can have
- Collaborates with the engineering team on maintenance and everyday functionality of Identity and Access Management, ITSM, Monitoring Tools, and Critical Event Management
- Provide front-line advanced technical support for identification, prioritization, and resolution of all responsible applications/processes and manage related ticket queue
- Creates and maintains relationships with cross functional partners
- Maintain self-service forms in the Service Catalog as needed by working with IT and business partners to gather requirements, make recommendations, and implement changes
- Manage user profiles, teams, and roles in ITSM application
- Create and modify users, groups and contacts within Active Directory or Entra
- Manage AD/Entra accounts and Office 365 mailboxes
- Escalate larger issues to Sr/Principal Engineer and/or Manager for assistance working through major issues
- Point of escalation for Tools Support team
- Participates in projects as required
You’ll bring to the role
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, other related field, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of IT work experience, with at least 1 year of experience working with ITSM and/or Identity solutions
- Understanding of different authentication methodology (I.E. SSO, local, MFA, etc.)
- Understanding of basic IT security policies such as password management, user types, separation of duties, etc.
- Basic knowledge of how APIs work
- Familiarity with ITIL Framework and understanding of SLA metrics
- Basic understanding of network and database fundamentals
- Basic knowledge for using PowerShell
- Experience with SQL reporting a plus
- Understanding of Azure/Entra Active Directory and how to manage objects
- Understanding of various operating system platforms including Windows, UNIX, Linux etc.
- Ability to convey complex technical ideas to non-technical people
- Ability to work and communicate, in a team environment, using strong communication skills
- Ability to analyze and solve problems independently
- Ability to interact with all levels of management
- Must possess an understanding of the retail industry

- The target salary range for this role is: 85,000 - 100,000*

This position works remotely. Occasional travel to a company office may be required.
